Unitarian Universalist congregations affirm and promote
seven basic principles:
The inherent worth
and dignity of every person; Justice, equity and compassion in human relations;
Acceptance of one
another and encouragement to spiritual growth in our congregations;
A free and
responsible search for truth and meaning;
The right of
conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in
society at large;
The goal of world
community with peace, liberty, and justice for all;
Respect for the
interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.
This clip gives
you an idea of what UU is all about:
UU Singapore is a
small but growing community of individuals who subscribe to these principles.
We each have our
own religious traditions. At the same time we recognize the value of
traditions different from our own and seek to learn from
each other's traditions as we work to promote spiritual growth in ourselves and
others.
We welcome new
members regardless of race, gender, nationality, sexual orientation,
economic status, disability and religious beliefs who share in these
principles.
